Team Meeting

In today's lesson me and Larisa discussed our ideas about the font and the photography for our advert and CD cover. Although we will be producing different adverts and CD covers, working together gives both of us ideas for what we would like to do. We also decided that we will do the photography shoot together because we have roughly same ideas but different plans.

Team Meeting

In today's lesson me and my partner discussed and done some research about the song adverts that relate to or genre.

We did not find many because usually is it a whole album or a tour advert not a single song.

Full Test Export

In today's lesson we presented our music video to our class members and teachers. We have not yet completed our whole music video however this is what we have got to so far. One of the biggest problems we have noticed is the 'Wiggle' effect around '2:50'. The effect starts off good however after around 5 seconds the clip goes out of the frame because the shot starts wiggling too much. To solve this problem I thought the best option would be to shorten the clip and lower the effect down to '0.5' instead of '1.00'. This setting stopped the clip from coming off the frame.

Bookings List 2- Editing during free time

In today's lesson we booked extra times to edit when we have breaks or after college. As this is the last week of editing we wanted to have as much time as possible. We booked in for wednesday period 2 and after college onwards, and on friday after 3pm onwards. This will give us enough time to improve our music video.

Adding effects and changing brightness and contrast

In today's lesson, we noticed that some of the places we shot our music video was way too bright because the stage performance was a darker lighting. It contrasted too much and we decided to play around with the brightness and contrast
to make them similar. In some of the clips we decreased the brightness and increased the contrast. In addition, we decided to add cinematic effect on our clips. The clips with high contrast we put the '25' effect and the clips with low contrast we put '50' because '50' increased the contrast and made the clips more saturated.

Test Export

After editing most parts of our video, we noticed that even though the edited parts were rendered it was still moving very slow and it was slightly blurred. We discussed the problem with Amy and decided to do a test export to see if the problem would occur after exporting and we found out that after exporting the problems disappeared. It was a lot more clearer and it was synced with the song. However, after uploading it to YouTube, the quality of the video reduced.

Rendering out shots

We have played around with many settings including addings effects and changing the speed and as we used after effects so stabilise many of our shots, it slowed down our music video and reduces the quality. Later on the computer kept freezing because there was just way too many things changed. Wee decided to render everything which took a long time however it made a significant difference as out music video didn't carry on freezing. It also improved the quality however it was still not HD quality. After asking Vanessa she suggested that we should do a test export to see whether the quality improves or not.

Bookings List- Editing during free time

We have booked in to come and edit during our free breaks so we can make further improvements and fill in the areas of our music video that we need to fill in. We have booked in for wednesday period two and thursday from period 3 to period 4 including our lunch time. In some of our breaks we do not have a break together which means we need to work on our own however during lunch we can see the progress that we have done and agree on whether we want to keep the changes that we have made.

Progress- Music Video

In today's lesson we carried on editing our music video on Premiere Pro. We wanted to learn how to reverse one of the clips so it would be him walking forward then walking backwards. Before watching a tutorial, we played round with the settings and found an easy way to do this. What we have done is get the clip, right click and press on the speed setting, after that there is an option to reverse the clip and the next step is to simply crop the clip, so that one of the shots is him walking forward and the next shot is him walking backwards. We have watched many videos together however one thing I love doing is trying out new things and experiment because sometimes we went up with good footage. Also, Larisa has done a very good job by playing around the lighting settings. The clips of the eye is very bright so Larisa played around with it and dimmed the colour down so it matches with the rest of the music video. We have so far roughly completed the first 1 minute of the song however we still need to use After Effects to change up a few things.
